Tea time as only the British know how to serve it, in honour of Her Majesty the Queen
From 29th May to 9th June, Berkeley of London's Pr t- -Portea will join the city of London in celebrating Queen Elizabeth's 60th anniversary with the typical mini cakes and pastries associated with the iconic afternoon tea inspired, this time, by the hats worn by the Royal Family (it is said that, since the day she was crowned, Queen Elizabeth worn about 5000 different hats).
Taking centre stage on Paul Smith cake standare a vanilla biscuit in the shape of the Queen's crown, Angela Kelly's design of the maple leaf hat worn by the Duchess of Cambridge during her recent visit to Canada, a profiterole cake recreating the hat by milliner Philip Treacy worn by Princess Beatrice at the Royal Wedding and the Monarch's favourite Launer London handbag in the shape of a cake… as well as many other treats reproducing, in a sweet and cute mini version, the creations of two other milliners of choice by the members of the Royal Family, Rachel Trevor-Morgan and Gina Foster.
